Peterson's Magazine was an American magazine focused on women, published from 1842 - 1898, and was the longest-running title of a 19th century American women's magazine. Originally titled Ladies' National Magazine, Peterson launched his new publication as a cheaper alternative to Godey's Lady’s Book ($2 annually as opposed to $3). Although the name of the publication changed over the first few years (The Lady's World of Fashion, The Lady's World, The Artist and Lady's World, and The Ladies' National Magazine, by 1848 it was titled Peterson's Ladies' National Magazine, and from 1855 to 1892, it was known as what it’s most notably remember by, Peterson's Magazine.

The magazine was a resource for American women that included topics of interest such as: fashion, poetry, music, cooking, literature, sewing, needlework, crafts, gardening, current events, product advertisements, and more.
