  • Circa 1830 (based upon the subject’s clothing)

  • Painting is unframed (as found)

  • Oil on canvas, hand-stretched and tacked onto oval wooden frame

  • Minor wear around the edges

  • A few scratches in the paint and a small tear in the canvas is evident

  • The portrait has two labels on the back, “Mrs. David S. Kennedy” and “Mrs. David Spival Kennedy, Michael Parmer Lenox”

  • Portrait is unsigned
