19th Century Hungarian Zinc Roof Fragment, Extra Large

$0.00
Sold

Throughout history, decorative finials were placed atop virtually every type of building rooftop imaginable. Although typically adorning the peak of a roof, finials are also known to be found at the corners of a building or structure, and incorporated into the gutter system such as this one once was.

Captivated by its whimsical form, we have attached this architectural fragment to a custom reclaimed wood stand, thus creating a one-of-a-kind focal piece to be displayed either in the garden or inside the home.

  • Found in Hungary, 19th century

  • Finial has been fitted onto a (removable) custom stand constructed of wood salvaged from a local McKinney historic building

  • Remnants of the original decorative green and blue paint are visible

  • Openings are wide enough to accommodate a small plant

  • Wear consistent with age, removal from roof, and exposure to the elements over time

  • Overall dimensions approximately 19 7/8” L x 13” W x 31 1/2” H

  • Zinc finial measures approximately 16 3/4” L x 8” W x 26 1/4” H

  • Wooden base measures 19 7/8” L x 13” W x 5 1/4” H

Available for pick up, local delivery, and nationwide shipping.
