Golden Oak Buffet Deux Corps Vitrine

A beautiful late 19th century antique buffet deux corps (“two bodied buffet”) vitrine with a graceful arched crown and subtle hand-carved details resting upon elegant cabriole legs. The buffet deux corps, with a shallow upper cabinet atop a two-door buffet, was a favored type of furniture throughout France and Belgium, which allowed for ample storage of fine heirlooms and kitchen goods.

The upper vitrine doors feature a unique slightly green-tinged wavy glass and open to reveal three whimsically scalloped front shelves, which compliment the detailing along the buffet’s skirt. Two doors in the cabinet below enclose a single shelf.

We’re smitten with its modern bleached finish, and effortless French provincial charm, and think it will add loads of character to your home’s decor.
