Antique Louis XV Style Enfilade Buffet
An exceptional antique French country Louis XV style enfilade buffet from Belgium. This long and sturdy sideboard is handcrafted from solid oak and features lovely carved details along the skirt, drawers and paneled doors. The cabinet doors on either side of the three drawers each open to reveal a single shelf inside. The buffet rests atop graceful cabriole legs, further endearing us to its charming provincial style.
The bleached finish freshens the look of the buffet, making it a welcoming addition to today’s modern home whether used as a sideboard in a dining room, statement entryway piece or as an impressive tv console.
Found in Belgium, dating from the 18th century
Original finish has been stripped to reveal the natural wood tone, as found
Handcrafted from solid oak and constructed using mortise and tenon and pegged joinery
Beautiful hand-carved details, including stippling technique around drawer fronts
Original bronze hardware
One of the cabinet doors is missing its key
Interior shelves are lined with removable green paper (as found)
The two-board top has been repaired on each side (a long time ago)
Typical separation of planks, minor cracks and light staining throughout, consistent with age and use
