Antique Napoleonic Chiavari Ballroom Chair
A charming French Napoleon III Chiavari chair in black with hand-painted gold details. The original apricot hued satin seat has frayed and pulled away from the beautifully embroidered binding. The chair features a delicate spindle back with a detailed curved crest rail.
The Chiavari chair, also known as the Chiavarina, or Tiffany chair, is a wooden chair first created in 1807 by a cabinetmaker from Chiavari, Italy, Giuseppe Gaetano Descalzi. Originally crafted out of solid cherrywood, their gorgeously-designed chairs quickly rose in popularity and became the premier seating of choice for a myriad of formal occasions to include weddings and other black tie affairs to this day.

Features the original satin fabric upholstered seat with fraying; could be replaced if desired
