Antique Wooden Puzzle Hat Block

$125.00

Late 19th to early 20th-century multi-part wooden hat blocks used in a Dutch hatter’s workshop. Constructed from interlocking segments, these crown forms were assembled to shape wet felt and then collapsed inward once dry — allowing the finished hat to be removed without distortion.

Hand-carved from solid hardwood, each block retains visible tool marks, age cracks, shrinkage, and a rich, darkened patina from decades of use. The rounded crown and defined shoulder suggest forms used for structured men’s felt hats.

Equal parts utilitarian object and sculptural study, they display beautifully singly or grouped.

This listing is for one (1) Antique Wooden Puzzle Hat Block. Please select the number below that corresponds to the hat block you wish to purchase.
