In the mid-19th century, cast iron became a popular material used in commercial buildings. Window frames were produced by pouring liquid iron into a prefabricated mold to create multiple pieces of the same size.⠀

Pictured is a London factory that was built in c.1850 just days before it was torn down completely. Thankfully, the building was carefully stripped of its architectural salvage. ⠀

  • Two window frames are available, the listing is for one piece

  • Iron frame has lovely patina due to age and wear

  • All glass pane has been removed

  • Each window frame has hinged opening at center of panel

  • Approximately 60” W x 72” H x 2” D

  • Approximately 26” W x 24” L x 4” D hinged opening
