Beautiful antique Louis XVI fauteuil armchairs featuring a hand-molded frame and square-shaped back. Crafted from solid wood using mortise and tenon construction, the fluted outer back of the chair’s frame is adorned with ornate detailing along the crest and gadrooned onion dome finials upon the corners. Carved acanthus leaves are present at the arm’s crest and the turned arm support. Rosettes add decoration to the armrest and knees. A carved bowed front seat rail leads to fluted tapered legs that end in arrow feet. The chairs feature a gilded finish and have been newly upholstered in fine European linen.
