French Ladder / Reclaimed Shelving

$1,050.00

While shopping in the English countryside flea markets, we stayed in the most charming vacation rental. The cottage was designed with a curated eye and filled with unique antiques ... one of my favorite pieces was a simple one. An old painter’s ladder had been transformed into a bookshelf and used as a wall divider between the entry and the living room.

Inspired by the idea, I kept my eye out for unique ladders during our travels and was lucky enough to find this crusty old French painter’s ladders at the Ardingly antique fair.  We added old Belgium scaffold boards to act as shelves, and the pairing completed the look. I would love to see this ladder shelf used as a furniture piece in an all-white modern space, wouldn’t you?
