(Pair) Antique Cast Iron Garden Urns on Tall Plinth Bases

$4,800.00

Dating to the late 19th century, this pair of antique cast iron garden urns stands atop tall architectural plinth bases, giving them an impressive vertical presence well suited to flanking entrances, framing garden paths, or anchoring a courtyard.

The bowls feature a classical scrolling relief beneath broad rolled rims, while layers of weathered white paint have softened over time into a richly textured surface accented by heavy oxidation and warm iron tones. Their naturally aged finish reflects decades spent outdoors, creating a patina that simply cannot be reproduced.

Though substantial in scale, the urns retain elegant proportions, making them equally at home in traditional landscapes or collected interiors.

  • English (possibly American), circa 1870–1900

  • Original layered white paint with heavy oxidation and an exceptionally weathered surface

  • Classical scrolling relief decoration around each bowl

  • Each urn disassembles into five individual components for transport and installation

  • One urn contains one professionally fabricated iron replacement element, custom-made to precisely match the original. The repair is not noticeable when assembled and will continue to develop a natural patina over time.

  • No maker's marks found

  • Expected paint loss, oxidation, weathering, and minor casting irregularities consistent with age and outdoor use

  • Each urn measures approximately 36" H overall x 21.5” W diameter; plinth is approximately 14" square
