(Pair) Exterior Doors, 51.5" x 86"
Pair of 19th-century French oak exterior doors with original painted surfaces and architectural detailing. Each door is constructed with a tall molded upper panel, a smaller central panel accented by a circular molded medallion, and a lower recessed panel. One retains an old mail slot and porcelain doorknob, along with remnants of its original hardware.
One face carries a beautifully worn blue-gray painted finish, while the reverse reveals layers of warm ochre-beige paint with golden undertones. Areas of exposed oak, rubbed edges, old hardware marks, and variations in the painted surfaces speak to years of use and give each side its own character.
Substantial in scale and construction, the pair could be returned to architectural use or incorporated into an interior as pantry, library, or passage doors.
Salvaged in France, circa 1850 - 1880
Original antique condition
Solid oak construction; heavy and sturdy
Historic painted finishes are present on both sides
One side is painted blue-gray
