Reclaimed Catholic Church Marble Surround
Reclaimed from a Catholic church in the midwest, this marble frame once housed a memorial, plaque, or the like. A wonderful decorative fragment, the piece could be used again to surround a small window, mirror, or piece of art.
Found in Nebraska, circa the mid-19th century
The surround consists of 6 separate pieces including a pediment, entablature (which includes the Corinthian volute), two Corinthian columns, and two plinths
Hand-carved from Carrara marble
Note: the last photo is of a similar set using the entablature as the lower “frame” surrounding the artwork
Measures approximately 30.125” W x 3.125” D x 34” H
