Once gracing the rooftop of a building in Hungary, this salvaged zinc roof fragment is now a one-of-a-kind sculptural element that lends character and a story to your home’s decor that only pieces such as this can tell.

Throughout history, decorative finials were placed atop virtually every type of building rooftop imaginable. Although typically adorning the peak of a roof, finials can are also known to be found at the corners of a building or structure, and incorporated into the drain pipe such as this one once was. Attached to a custom reclaimed wood stand, this wonderfully whimsical architectural fragment with ties to the past is eager to be displayed as a focal point either inside the home or outdoors in the garden.

  • Found in Hungary, 19th century

  • Finial has been fitted onto a (removable) custom stand constructed of wood salvaged from a local McKinney historic building

  • Opening at the top is wide enough to accommodate a modest sized plant

  • Wear consistent with age, removal from roof, and exposure to the elements over time

  • Overall dimensions approximately 20” L x 19” W x 35 1/4” H

  • Zinc finial measures approximately 19” W diameter at the widest point x 29” H
