These decorative vents were used in the New Orleans area to prevent the buildup of excessive moisture from the crawl spaces under houses. Their purpose was practical but their design was extremely decorative.
Made of aluminum, painted white, as found
Wear consistent with age and use
Lightweight but solid construction
